Trek Relief’s Most Inspiring Annual Board Retreat Yet!
We are excited to announce that our recent annual Board of Directors (BOD) Retreat was the most invigorating and inspiring one yet! Since 2016, Trek Relief has grown and evolved into a force for positive change, and this retreat was a powerful reminder of our collective impact.
The energy and excitement were palpable as our board members came together in Big Bear, CA to reflect on our journey and set the course for the future. Here are some of the most powerful statements that capture the spirit of the retreat:
Sarah expressed her passion: “Trek Relief is something I’m really proud to be doing. I want more of this in my life—making a difference that’s both impactful and enjoyable. Empowering others to create programs takes our impact to the next level—it's truly inspiring!”
Chi shared her pride: “This is a nonprofit I’m genuinely proud to be part of. Trek Relief offers an experiential way to make a difference, far beyond just raising money.”
Jay highlighted our collaborative impact: “Seeing how our programs are developed jointly with communities and how they take ownership of the results is truly inspiring. This is why I said yes to being on the board—Trek Relief is outward-focused, always prioritizing what benefits the people the most.”
Throughout the retreat, we celebrated our shared achievements:
✅ Supported 116 devastated families in Langtang Valley after the 2015 Gorkha earthquake in Nepal
✅ Rebuilt an elementary school in Nepal, and constructed a permaculture teaching classroom in Patagonia
✅ Cleaned up two national parks in Mongolia
✅ Planted 50 native trees
✅ Installed 12 solar panels
✅ Funded 75 greenhouses
✅ Delivered $22,000 worth of medical equipment to four medical posts at the base of Mount Everest
…and so much more, all made possible by our dedicated donors, trekkers, and partners!
This retreat left us feeling more connected, motivated, and excited to roll out new initiatives. We are honored to serve as part of this passionate and growing nonprofit.
