TREK TOGETHER FUND
Pay It Forward
At Trek Relief, we believe that adventure and exploration should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their economics.
That's why we're excited to introduce the Trek Together Fund, a solidarity fund designed to support individuals who dream of embarking on a transformative trek.
Be a Part of Someone's Journey
Your contribution to the fund will help create opportunities for aspiring adventurers to experience the life-changing impact of our treks. Every dollar donated goes directly into a pool that provides assistance to those who deserve this opportunity.
Funding Timeline
We are currently building our startup capital in the fund. Once we’ve received at least $5,000 USD, we will open the application process for potential recipients—our goal is by the end of 2024.
How Recipients are Selected
-
We provide support to those who meet the following criteria:
Those with a proven need for financial assistance;
are community leaders in inspiring change, whether successful or aspirational;
started and shared personal fundraising campaigns through our tools; and
can provide beneficial skills relevant to the trip’s community.
-
We invite applicants to complete our application form detailing their interest in our trek and how this opportunity will impact their life, sharing their passion for trekking and how this opportunity will benefit them. As well, we ask them to connect with us on our social media channels and share our work with their networks. Additionally, we ask them how much they are capable of contributing on their own (and through fundraising) to determine their grant amount. Finally, we verify them with a reference person.
The selection process will be based on available funds, the number of applicants, and requested amounts. Reviews will be made upon submissions of an application and made by a Board committee designated for review and approval. Awarded funds serve as a discounted rate for the selected trip and are non-transferable.
If selected, the recipient will receive a specified reduction in their trip cost, making their purposeful trek more accessible.
