Apply for Trek Together Fund Now: 4 Ways to Make Volunteering Possible

At Trek Relief, we believe travel should be meaningful, not exclusive. We know that committing to a volunteer trek is about more than just signing up—it’s also about making it financially feasible. The good news? We’ve seen time and again that when you say yes to purpose, resources follow.

Whether you’re a student, a teacher on break, a full-time creative, or a first-time traveler, here are four accessible ways to fund your Trek Relief journey.

1. Fundraise or Receive Direct Donations

Best for: Anyone willing to share their "why" with their community

We’ve created tools and templates to make it easy to launch a personal fundraising campaign. Past volunteers have raised their full trip contribution (and more!) by reaching out to friends, family, and even coworkers. Some workplaces also offer company donation matching, which doubles the impact of every gift.

Tip: We’ll help you craft your story and share it with confidence. You’d be surprised who wants to support something meaningful.

2. Earn Work-Trade Credits

Best for: Creatives, organizers, outreach champions

Have skills you’d like to contribute? Our Work-Trade Program lets you earn credits toward your trip by volunteering in support roles—like video editing, design, outreach, or admin.

Current work opportunities:

  • Hosting a meet-up: $20 per verified location, up to $200

  • Speaking at an event: $100 per approved event

  • Producing video or photo content: Up to 50% trip credit

  • Post Flyers: $20 per verified location, up to $200

  • Leading a trip: Full trip cost covered

3. Use Alumni & Referral Discounts

Best for: Returning trekkers and those who want to share the love

Trek Relief alumni receive a special discount on future trips. Plus, when you refer a friend who signs up, you both benefit through our referral program.

  • Refer a friend and earn $100 trip credit, and they receive $100 off

  • Alumni trip credit: $200 (2nd trip), $300 (3rd), $400 (4th), $500 (5th)

It’s our way of saying thank you—and building a community that grows stronger with every step.
