We understand that various barriers can make it challenging to participate in our trips. The Trek Together Fund is here to help. If you have the passion and determination to trek with us but feel a strong lack of accessibility, we invite you to apply for assistance through our fund.

Fund Support Details

Criteria & Eligibility:

We provide support to those who meet the following criteria:

  • Those with a proven need for financial assistance;

  • are community leaders in inspiring change, whether realized or aspirational;

  • started and shared personal fundraising campaigns through our tools; and

  • can provide beneficial skills relevant to the trip’s community.

Three Easy Steps to Apply:

  1. Connect with us on social media, if you have accounts:

    1. Facebook (Meta)

    2. Instagram (@trekrelief)

    3. LinkedIn

  2. Spread the word: Share the desired trip’s Facebook event or webpage link by posting it to your social media accounts (Facebook/Instagram/LinkedIn/X). If you do not use social media, an alternative promotional activity is expected. Keep records/proof of your actions.

  3. Complete our application form (below) detailing your interest in our trek and how this opportunity will impact your life, sharing your passion for trekking/volunteer work and how this opportunity will benefit you and our communities.

    1. You will also be asked to provide a reference person, of whom we will contact for verification purposes.

If selected, you will be allocated a specified reduction in your trip cost, making your purposeful trek more accessible.


Funding Terms

  • The maximum support amount that can be requested is the specified trip contribution cost. We do not cover transportation to or from the trip location.

    • The final award amount is determined by the Trek Together Fund committee and may differ from what is requested, depending on the current available funds and the number of applicants.

    • Please note that higher requested amounts are likely not to be fully funded, though they may be partially awarded.

  • The final selection of recipients for a specified trip will be made before the final contribution deadline for that trip.

    • Applicants will be contacted as soon as possible with a response, whether to approve or deny funds; expect to wait at least 1-2 weeks.

  • Funds are non-transferable.

  • Cancelations:

    • If the recipient is unable to attend the specified trip and the trip is not canceled, the award is to be forfeited and return to the fund for other candidates.

      • If the recipient wants to attend a future trip, they will need to create a new application and be subject to the committee’s current circumstances at the time.

    • In the event that the trip is canceled by Trek Relief, the allocated value can be used on any of our trips until the end of the following calendar year.
