Year 2 of Mongolia Nature Conservancy Program Reaches New Milestones

The second year of Trek Relief’s Mongolia Nature Conservancy Program has been a resounding success! With six dedicated volunteers and a powerful partnership with the Mongolian Rotary Club, we’ve taken our eco-conscious initiatives to even greater heights.

Highlights of the Trip

This year’s accomplishments showcase the meaningful impact of collaboration and dedication:

  • 50 large bags of trash (70L each) collected in Terelj National Park.

  • 15 trash claws and work gloves used and donated to Terelj National Park staff to support ongoing cleanup efforts.

  • 50 elm trees planted in Erdene Sum Nalaikha to combat desertification.

  • $2,250 grant to the Rotary Club of Khangarid for environmental projects:

    • “Green Way” Project: Recycling education in schools, cleanup events, and trash cans for public use.

    • “Magic Bricks” Project: Milk and flour donated to Khugjliin Khelkhee NGO to support their onsite daycare.

  • $108 in carbon offsets paid to My Club NGO to cover emissions from touring activities.

Our Volunteers: The Heart of the Program

Among our volunteers, four returning alum joined us, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to Trek Relief’s mission. A special shoutout goes to Chuck Chan, a three-time Trek Relief participant, who helped combat desertification on the Mongolian steppe by sponsoring and planting trees.

Gratitude and Looking Ahead

We’re immensely proud of the measurable impact we’ve achieved together in just our second year. This journey wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of our volunteers, the support of our partners, and the generosity of donors who believe in building a sustainable future.

Stay tuned for updates as we continue to grow and expand the Mongolia Nature Conservancy Program. Together, we’re creating a greener, brighter future!
