Langtang Trip #13: Trekker Mina Xiong Shares Her Journey

November 7, 2019 – Trekker Mina Xiong reflects on the incredible experiences and humbling moments during Langtang Trip #13, where her team delivered vital donations to preschoolers impacted by the 2015 earthquake.

A Journey Fueled by Purpose

"Our hearts were full as we reached the Langtang Valley, giving out donations made by people who were truly #InspiredWithPassion for this cause. These preschoolers climb 40 minutes up a steep mountain every day just to attend school, as their original school was destroyed by the 2015 earthquake.

Let me tell you, it’s no easy trek. The stairs seemed endless, stacking on top of each other at impossibly steep angles. I had to stop four times just to catch my breath, yet these children passed me effortlessly, without breaking a sweat.

A Connection Through Kindness

Every small gift we gave was met with shy smiles—humble, heartfelt gestures of gratitude. Each child greeted us with their hands raised to their foreheads in a respectful "Namaste," their shyness conveying both warmth and reverence.

The support we received from donors made a significant impact, contributing to a brighter future for the children of Nepal. It was a reminder that #ItStartsWithUs—a spark of generosity and purpose can ignite meaningful change.

Looking Ahead

This experience underscored the resilience of the Langtang community and the transformative power of collective support. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this effort—you’ve helped create lasting opportunities for these children and their families.

Let’s continue to be #InspiredWithPassion and work together to build brighter futures.
