Langtang Valley School Build: Phase I Kicks Off with Community Collaboration

We’re thrilled to announce that Phase I of the Komin Shyamey Wangphel Secondary School rebuild has officially begun at the gateway of Langtang Valley! This milestone marks a significant step forward in creating a safe and empowering learning environment for the community.

A Community-Powered Solution

Under the guidance of Buddha Gurung, our architect and earthquake-safe construction specialist, we’ve finalized a groundbreaking agreement. This week, Buddha met with local officials, political party leaders, the VDC chairman, the school principal, and the school management committee in Syabrubesi to solidify the building contract.

Here’s what makes this project special:

  • Collaborative Leadership:
The community, with technical supervision from Buddha, will manage the project while adhering to our quality standards and budget.

  • Empowered Ownership:
This community-powered solution ensures local people take pride and ownership in the school, fostering long-term sustainability.

From Vision to Reality

It’s incredible to see how far we’ve come in just nine months! What started as a dream has now evolved into action, overcoming challenges like time zones, language barriers, and design complexities.

Phase I includes:

  • Clearing the site of debris, weeds, and old foundations.

  • Breaking ground and preparing for the sewage drain.

  • Measuring elevation and laying the groundwork for quality construction.

Thank You for Making This Possible

This project wouldn’t be a reality without the unwavering support of our participants, donors, and volunteers. Every contribution has brought us closer to this moment. Together, we’re not just building a school—we’re creating opportunities for future generations.

From all of us at Trek Relief, HAPPY HOLIDAYS and heartfelt gratitude for being part of this transformative journey.
