Trek Relief started with a simple idea: to merge adventure with purpose. What began as a small grassroots effort in response to the Gorkha earthquake has now become a global movement, bringing together volunteers, donors, and communities to create lasting change through sustainable projects.

January 2025 marks our 8th anniversary, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the incredible community that has made this journey possible. Since our incorporation on January 30, 2017, we’ve been on a mission to empower communities, protect the environment, and inspire socially responsible travel.

So, as we celebrate this milestone, we’re not just looking back, we’re looking ahead to what’s next.

This year, our Annual Board Retreat brought our incredible Board Members, friends, and family together in Los Angeles for a weekend filled with meaningful discussions, planning, and a night to remember—the Momo Party with Purpose Fundraiser!

We’re thrilled to bring back our Party with Purpose Fundraiser, and this time, we’re taking a culinary journey to Nepal! Join us for an evening of hands-on fun as we learn to make momos—delicious, traditional Nepalese dumplings.

“I felt a huge shift in Trek Relief’s direction here,” shared Candice Young, our Founder and Executive Director, after attending the COP26 Climate Change Conference in Scotland.

Originally a disaster response movement, Trek Relief is evolving to address one of the most significant drivers of natural disasters: climate change. Candice’s experience at the conference underscored the urgency of global action, especially after attending a powerful panel discussion featuring Nepalese climate advocates.

This year, our Annual Board Retreat brought together 10 of our core team members to discuss the future of Trek Relief and how we can resume our international trips in a thoughtful and conscientious way during these pandemic times.

After the challenges of 2020 and the cancellation of last year’s retreat, this gathering was an opportunity to reconnect, reflect, and reimagine how we can continue to fulfill our mission while prioritizing safety and responsibility.

Our 3rd Annual Board Retreat in Ojai, CA, was an energizing and productive gathering, filled with exciting updates and plans for the year ahead. With fresh leadership roles and big ideas, we’re ready to take Trek Relief to new heights.

We’re excited to announce the success of our 2nd Annual Party with Purpose Fundraiser, held on April 20th! With the support of our generous attendees and dedicated volunteers, we raised an incredible $16,500 to support Trek Relief’s impactful programs.

THANK YOU to everyone who attended, supported, donated, brought friends and family, volunteered, and left no trace. Our first official Party with Purpose Fundraiser was an unforgettable evening filled with joy, community, and impact.
