Patagonia Inc. Features Trek Relief’s Patagonia Program
We’re thrilled to share that Patagonia Inc. has featured Trek Relief in a powerful social media reel, produced by Canino Films, highlighting our collaborative work building an outdoor garden and classroom in the heart of Patagonia, Chile. This short film captures not only the breathtaking beauty of the region, but also the heart of our mission—to empower local communities through sustainable development, ecological education, and conscious travel.
A Story of Shared Purpose
This project was made possible through the generous support of Patagonia’s Environmental Grants Program, in partnership with Patagonia Action Works—a platform that connects grassroots nonprofits with individuals and resources to take action on the most pressing environmental issues of our time.
Equally vital to the success of this project is our charitable partner on the ground, Fundación Renoval—a Chilean nonprofit co-founded by Trek Relief’s very own Program Directors, Sarah Nguyen and Sebastián Arriagada, along with architect Tomás Rodriguez. Based locally in the Aysén Region, Renoval plays a leading role in facilitating community engagement, ecological restoration, and long-term program sustainability. Together, we’ve co-created a dynamic outdoor learning space that now serves as a hub for community-led education, regenerative agriculture, and environmental stewardship.
Building Community in Patagonia
The outdoor classroom is part of a broader effort to regenerate land, deepen ecological awareness, and support climate-resilient livelihoods in rural Patagonia. With the guidance of Fundación Renoval, the support of local partners and volunteers, and the backing of visionary funders like Patagonia Inc., we’re turning intention into impact—one shovel, one seed, and one student at a time.
Why This Matters
In regions as ecologically sensitive and culturally rich as Patagonia, sustainable development must be rooted in community empowerment, environmental restoration, and locally led resilience. Patagonia Inc.’s decision to highlight this work is not just a moment of visibility—it’s a celebration of shared values and a powerful reminder that collective action creates lasting change.
We’re honored to be recognized and deeply grateful to our growing network of partners, supporters, and changemakers who make this work possible.
