School Build Update: Empowering Local Women and Completing Phase 1!

The ripple effect of our school build in Langtang Valley has been a source of pride and joy for everyone involved—our Trek Relief team, local families, and generous donors. Beyond the construction itself, this project is creating meaningful opportunities for local women in a region where female employment is scarce.

Through your support, women in the community have been employed to prepare the aggregate and materials needed for the school’s foundation. Their hard work is not only laying the literal groundwork for education but also empowering them with jobs that directly impact their families and children’s futures.

Milestones Reached

  • Phase 1 Complete: The foundation of the school is finished, thanks to the incredible efforts of our local workforce and the funding provided by Trek Relief volunteers and donors.

  • Next Steps: With the foundation ready, we’re excited to begin building the walls and bringing this school to life!

Local Impact

  • Women at Work: Local women are playing a key role in preparing the rocks and materials needed for construction. Their contributions are not only rebuilding their children’s future but also strengthening their own independence.

  • Building Community: Every step forward in this project represents collaboration, empowerment, and shared progress toward a brighter future.
