Rebuilding Langtang Valley: Updates from the Ground
With heartfelt gratitude to our generous supporters, we are excited to share updates on the progress in Langtang Valley. Thanks to your donations, Trek Relief has contributed $15,000 to the Langtang Management Reconstruction Committee (LMRC), empowering the community to rebuild after the devastating 2015 earthquake.
Where Your Support Has Gone
The LMRC has made significant strides in providing essential resources to 116 families in the valley. Here's how your contributions are making an impact:
Building Materials Distributed:
32.5 sacks of cement for each family, with transportation costs covered.
250kg of iron bars for each family.
50 pieces of plywood and 6 pieces of floor plywood per family.
Window glass for all homes.
Financial Assistance Provided:
150,000 NPR cash distributed to each family.
An additional 30,000 NPR cash allocation for all families in the coming weeks.
Reconstruction Progress
Communities across Langtang Valley are rebuilding with resilience and determination:
Kyanjin Gumba: 17 lodges and 1 community hall rebuilt.
Sindum: 1 lodge and 2 tea shops rebuilt.
Yamphu: 2 tea shops rebuilt.
Nepali: 2 tea shops rebuilt.
Mundu: 5 lodges, 3 orphan homes, and 1 community hall rebuilt.
Langtang: 12 lodges, 3 orphan homes, and 1 community building rebuilt.
Gumba: 5 tea shops with additional rooms rebuilt.
